I'm trying to figure out a way to add a counter to my blog, or at least get a general count of how many people read my blog. If anyone can be of assistance, email me :) ( mailto:macdonald7@juno.com ). Also, for any of you who have AIM, please drop me an IM! My screen name is iwant2BanEMTp.
Meanwhile, my week has been full of, um, adventures!
On Thursday morning I got a sore throat, and my drivers + motorcycle permits *Yahoo!*
On Thursday afternoon my sore throat progressed into a cold, and I went driving. This much I have already blogged about. Read below for the most recent news.
I wrote up a long bit about the driving experience, but I think a quick summation will do. I did absolutely fine - even backing down our driveway - untill while in the driveway after my trip my dad said "Pull forward a little", and I stepped on the gas - IN REVERSE! We went shooting down the driveway at a slight angle, and went off the pavement, with one tire going over and off our 2' retaining wall. I slammed on the brakes, but I could feel us skidding, and then I felt us going off the wall. I had hit a washer that was being stored to the side of the driveway, made a small dent in the van (which doesn't show, there's a small mess of dents in the back from the former owner), and had to get all the kids out to help push us back up, and Vincent and my dad had to jack up the van to get us out. Whew...!
Right now one of my great uncles and two of my great aunts are here. They brought tons of food, including, soup, lasagne, biscotti, danish pastries, muffins, cheese, olives, New York bagles (and more food!) and their great sense of humor :)
They really are wonderful people and it's such fun to have them up. One of my uncles and his wife were not able to make it today due to a medical problem they have just discovered. His wife (Katie) has a growth somewhere between her eye and brain. They found out yesterday it is not connected to the optic nerve, which is great news. Your prayers for her and her husband would be much appreciated. Neither of them is a Christian.
The singing season is starting to heat up, Thank God we have the cold now and not later in the season. During the singing season a cold or flu can be quite a pain, and with traveling to many different churches/nursinghomes/other public places sicknesses can be easy to pick up.
Dad had discovered that one of the injectors on the bus is stuck - open! So we need a new injector and a re-adjustment once that's in. It should be giving us a lot more power up the hills (which we've been having problems with) and better gas mileage.
mmm....I've got to go get a cup 'o tea with lots of lemon juice and honey, so I can sip while I surf :)
