First off I must apologize for the lack of blogging that I have done recently. Our family has been incredibly busy!
About a week ago I got an airbrush. Airbrushes are a little difficult to explain technically, but they are mainly used for automobiles (flames, logos, etc) and tee shirts. It was donated by a very nice member of an online forum I belong to. He wanted to give it to a teenager/beginner who didn't have a good brush. So in the future I should be able to airbrush graphics on our bus!
Ah yes, the audition I've been talking about. The audition is over, and the results are in. I made it by four points! I had thought there was no way I'd make it, the audition went less than smoothly. However, the judge was able to look past my nervousness and give me a fair grade. Right now I'm just praying everything will work out, we had a trip semi-planned for the week of the concert. I may have to cancel my playing in the concert, or push the trip forward a few weeks. We'll have to see what happens.
Thanksgiving DAY is right around the corner. I dislike thinking of it as a day unlike the rest as in terms of giving thanks to God. I like to think of it as a celebration of what each day should be (in terms of giving thanks, not eating!). It is also a reminder of how little some people have. We need to remember to pray for our brothers and sisters who live in extreme poverty in third world countries. There is a great ministry called Christian Aid (http://christianaid.org) that reaches third world countries with 100% of the money going towards the indigenous missionaries, they rely on donations directly to their staff to support themselves. I highly recommend their ministry if you are looking for a way to support fellow Christians!
We are planning to leave in a few days for VA to visit our grandparents. We'll be taking the bus down there for the first time, and have a chance to see one of our Aunts and her family. Very exciting! I won't be able to blog for a week or two once we leave, but I'll try to blog again before I leave.
