How does one deal with others who's opinion is the same in many things, but on many issues they think exactly the opposite? At least I know I don't have a problem about knowing what I believe!!! Some people you hear about just go with the flow. I used to, and there weren't any conflicts with my parents. I'd really have no sense of direction, no sense of what I really thought was right or wrong, and it was just peachy. On the outside it was at least. I'd make believe I thought exactly like them, but then when it came to defending my beliefs, I had no idea why I would stand up for them, so I came to seriously doubt what my parents ideals were. For a while when I was figuring out what I really did believe, and the sparks flew! It seemed like I was always arguing with my parents and leaving the room on a less than friendly note.
Once I got to a point where I knew what I believed, I discoved it was more or less how my parents believed. More than that, I knew why I believed that way, and I had come to the conclusions on my own. Some people nowadays can't be satisfied with that. They think if you don't believe opposite your parents, you must not be thinking on your own! I've experienced much of that, especially discussing homeschooling with people who don't agree that it is the best source of learning. It only serves to make me to first question my thinking, and then to reinforce it when I see how true it is.
My thoughts today are pretty much random, I can't seem to get more of them put together than what I just wrote. It has been a long time since I've been able to get that much out of 15 minutes.
It's so warm today! It's about 30 degrees. I think I'll take a dip in the lake....
