The mouse has returned! With the use of a box trap, Squeaky is safe and sound in his cage. I'm so glad. I had given him up for dead.
How many made New Years resolutions? I haven't kept any, only because I didn't make any. Besides...all those I've made in the past I've broken, within the first week of the year or so. lol.
Mid December I decided I really needed to get back into shape. It was getting to the point where I really got out of breath after playing tag with my brothers. My first thought was running. I'd done that in the past, but now the temperature was too cold. So I started using the nordic track instead. It is quite the 'warmer-upper' on these cold mornings. At first my pulse was wildly high, but now it's slowed, so I'm either more in shape (yeah right) or just not pushing myself as hard. Unfortunately the scale doesn't seem to notice all this exercise.
It snowed two days ago, yesterday we got quite a windstorm. I rarely see the snow blown around like it was then. Even though the sun was out, when the wind blew it got darker, as if there were clouds overhead. Shovelled sidewalks got recovered with snow. The wind makes some interesting lines in the snow, it almost looked like the pictures I've seen of windswept deserts, only it was white. The snow - however bad for driving, and just walking around - is great for the snowmobile. I haven't ridden since the recent snowstorm, but it's up and running again - at least temporarily. The track is awfully beat up (about to break), but my brother wants to wait as long as possible to put the new one on (next season probably).
I've given up on most people who have visited my blog. Pieter, I know you read this stuff, as well as a few other people, and I thank you. However most of my hits come from one timers, and I must admit I don't blame them. Can I possibly ask someone who doesn't know me at all to be interested in what I write, most of which is only pertinent if they know at least something about me? Since I'm considering this more of a journal more than anything else, the content can become stale. Unfit for public consumption. The same routine over and over again. The cold. The bus. The weather. Pretty boring life. Well, probably it could be considered that, and sometimes I do. But then again, sometimes I don't. Life is a strange thing sometimes. In Proverbs it says "Commit to the Lord whatever you do, and your plans will succeed" (Prov. 16:3). I guess as long as I do that, whatever is supposed to work out will work out (whatever that is!).
