I'm baaaaaaaaaaaaaaack! It's so nice to be home! We also had a lot of fun on the trip. First stop was Florida, it was really nice and warm down there, and it was great to see our aunt and her family. We went to the beach, got terribly sunburned, sent lots of postcards, and went to see the passion.
Next stop South Carolina, where we met an incredible pianist, Robert Barnes. The concert at his church went well, as did the concert the next day. The stay in his house was unbelievable. He played several pieces just for us in his music room :)! His house is decorated like an old french mansion!
Next stop North Carolina!!!!!!! We met a 14 member family there, they have 9 girls and 3 boys. They were such fun :) We stayed at their house for a few days, sang at their church, and a nearby nursing home. They built a sauna in their backyard, and they have a big pond/small lake in the backyard. The morning we left, we went in the 170 degree sauna, jumped out into the 28 degree air temperature and jumped in the lake! It was a positively exhilarating experience! They have a big rope swing extending over the lake, so you just swing out and jump. Quite fun!!
Next stop, Virginia. We stopped at our grandparents. It was nice to see them :) We sang at a church the morning we left, and then started on our way home. We really wanted to sing again, but we didn't know anyone in NJ (halfway point) and to make matters worse we had forgotten the cell in VA. We got off the turnpike and started driving on a smaller highway, looking for a church to stop at. We hadn't seen any for quite a while, and I figured, if we want to pull this off, we'd better start praying! We saw a sign for a church, and wondered if we should sing there. We stopped at home depot, used their phone book, and the pastor said we could come and sing at the night service! It worked out really well, and we were back on the road at 9 or so. We made it home this morning at 7:30.
It's been incredible, but I can't wait to go upstairs and clean my room!!!!!!!
