I just attended the local Memorial Day Parade. The parade was fine, the speeches were good, but the band made me do the opposite of what I would have expected. Now through out the service I was brought to tears by various speeches, and the whole thing was very touching, but the band was just too much. From the first detuned pitches of Proud to Be an American, I had the urge to laugh. I'm sorry about it. I'm not trying to be mean. It was just so out of tune, and out of time, it was almost shameful. I felt so bad for the director and the kids playing. I don't know if they are just unmusical, or they don't practice, but there is a problem somewhere. NO ONE should have to play like that. Someone, either student or director just doesn't care, and it is very demeaning in my opinion. So, to people wherever you are, remember the lives lost reverently. Make a decision to always do your best, in honor of God, and your countrymen. To those who died defending the freedom we have. Who died so the streets are void of the sounds of war. If you've made mistakes in the past, you can change!!!!!!!!1
