Yesterday I made a pan of apple crisp, and then went to the park on my unicycle. I came back, THE WHOLE THING WAS GONE! Except for a VERY small piece. Apparently my brothers had got a hold of it. So I made another one. Very disappointing, I must say! The second one was good though. The best kind of crisp is apple-rhubarb. It is incredible!

4 C. sliced apples
4 C. sliced rhubarb
1 C. flour
1 C. oatmeal
1 C. brown sugar
1 stick butter

Put the fruit in a pan (you can add some sugar on top if you like to sweeten the rhubarb), mix the flour, oatmeal, and sugar, then mix the butter in till crumbly. Bake for 40-60 minutes in a 350 degree oven.

I couldn't believe how strongly the smell of the apples connected to my brain. It really made me feel like it was fall. Amazing. There are other smells that I notice affect me quite strongly also. For instance the perfume I wore to my grandmother's funeral. Yes it was sad, but it was the first time I had met some of my relatives and it brings back such good memories. I hardly ever wear it, for fear I might taint the memories that seem so clear when I smell it.

The sense of smell is plain incredible.

I got a hit on my blog from www.viola.fr It's all in french so I have no idea how they got my link from there!
