We’re pulling out of a walmart parking lot. The laptop just ran out of juice and I lost a good paragraph. We have plenty of onboard power so it is now plugged in.

We left Thursday night and arrived Friday afternoon. We went through CT, NY, NJ, MD, DE, and now we are here in VA. The Bay Bridge Tunnel was fun. I had been through once or twice before. We stopped halfway through the 17 miles of tunnel and bridge at the gift shop and bought some postcards. They were having a funeral service at the very end of the pier but I must admit the very end of the pier would seem to be no different than the middle.

The next stop of interest was Virginia Beach itself. We stopped at a state park and stayed on the beach for a few hours. The sand and shells are a lot different than Florida beaches have! The sand is very grainy near the water and there are a lot of smooth stones. My knees are still sore from all the kneeling in the sand, hunting for interesting rocks. There were several people crab hunting. They use raw chicken for bait. We caught a few crabs with some kids who were there from KY. We also caught a small jelly fish.

The reunion has come and gone. We had a great time! We arrived soon after breakfast and then my brother and I left with our uncle and our second cousin to go surfing. After we had spent enough time to get a sunburn, we headed back to another cousin’s house for a barbeque. Our cousins were so much fun. We hadn’t seen any of them for years. 7 years is too long to wait between reunions.

We left with many hugs and kisses, our aunt and her husband and their two kids will be leaving for China in two weeks, and we won’t see them again until next year. They are planning to stay in China for several years but a summer trip back to the states is planned so we’ll get together them, Lord willing.
